Magical Rafting night for Matilda and Clara

13 December 2025

– In the evening, with the fireplace and small lights, it felt like a world of its own, as if nothing else existed, says Matilda Cowley. Together with her girlfriend Clara Norrlid, she has just spent a night on an ‘igloo-boat’ by a small island in Lungsund.

During the spring and summer, Joacim Öhman from the family business Hedetangen has worked hard to transform an overgrown miniature island into a place where the feeling of seclusion, silence, and luxury is experienced sustainably.
On the island, he has parked a completely self-sufficient floating cabin, called an AuroraHut. It has a bedroom, toilet, mini kitchen, and fans for both heating and cooling. Windows all around and in the roof provide an extraordinary experience.
On the island, there is a fire pit and several different wooden decks, a hammock, and a small herb garden.
Inside the cabin, there are both a telescope, film projector, portable speaker for personal music, and a hatch to ice fish during the winter.
– I was a bit skeptical about it being comfortable, but the beds were amazing. We were going to pick up crayfish traps, but instead, we slept in until half past nine, says Matilda. The couple spent the evening by the fire with the grill lit. – It was a magical place. The sky was pink, and the evening was completely calm, with no other sounds than those of nature, says Clara. Joacim says that bookings have started to come in, even though there is still quite a bit left to finish on the island for next season. The company has also received great reviews on Trustpilot. The igloo boat can also be booked in the winter, as it will be moored without a pier, right by the island. Clara believes the experience can attract many couples. – It’s probably not something you do with a friend, but absolutely fantastic for a couple. I have never experienced a place like this in Sweden, she says.
